So happy you're back. I'm still giving your book as a gift (5 Minute) to all and sundry - always gratefully received. And don't get me started on pens - collection will shock my kids. I still have the pen I used for A level Eng Lit - aged 40. Now 88.
I think it’s the word “anorak” that’s putting people off! Apparently it’s from the Greenlandic “annoraaq” but of course now synonymous with train spotting. Your new purchase, though, is the very height of chic athleisure.
And thank you for, some time ago now, introducing me on Instagram to Constanca whose endless creativity and ability to Actually Finish Projects I find so inspiring.
Really enjoyed this, thank you from someone else who gets carried away with random new obsessions. Absolutely yes to fritillaries, but only if you have a patch that gets totally rain-bogged in winter. They are water meadow plants, and need that sodden-time. If not, cyclamen are amazing when they spread and create big autumn swathes that last until January.
You’re most welcome to any of my notebooks, but when it comes to books I’ve bought or been sent, I’m completely paranoid about somebody bending the pages or putting dirty fingerprints on them. Other than that, like you, I’m flawless!
I've become obsessed lately with Monarda Punctata which I had never heard of before until recently when I planted it thinking I was going to get the big showy monarda and instead got this sort of weed looking thing. Then I noticed it has incredible leaves that are sort of variegated and then it got amazing flowers and now I'm seeing it in yards all over my area and loving it. Thanks for your posts, always love to hear from you.
Loving the anorak - I have a good one from https://www.oysho.com and like you say, people ask where it’s from… the irony that out of all the clothes I buy, it’s the anorak that gets the attention 🤣
On bulbs - watch this space: I put together my list of meadow bulbs last week, and there’ll be more about bulbs in grass in the next days… (and yes to pretty fritillaries if it's wettish)🌷
Fritillaries are a must. I have fallen hard for the snakehead type and need to get some in my garden - we had some years ago and I wondered where they had gone until another member of my household told me he thought they were weeds and killed the lot... needless to say I'm not happy

Loved reading this. I actually bought a scythe and it is still wrapped up in the cardboard it came in because I felt I'd gone a step too far! I'm terrified of it!
I love seeing how my worlds of different interests overlap. I too follow Constanca, maybe you introduced me to her work originally but I also noticed many others I follow from the sewing/knitting/crafting side of Instagram also follow her.
I'm going to add the Wild Flower book to my Christmas list. I used to know so much about wild flowers (taught to me by my granny) but apparently have forgotten most of it!

TRAIN SPOTTING! Perhaps that should become my new obsession!

Valuable advice thank you Lesley…I’m going to try a few and plant them in 7s rather than individually!
Completely with you on the pen and book front. Please don’t ask to borrow a book of mine: the answer will be no!
do you mean your notebooks? or can you not lend anyone ANY book? Fascinating!

Ahh yes the book disease…with me it’s just large hardbacks, which, UNLIKE me, remain flawless! x
For the anorak-averse … https://rainkiss.com/en-gb/collections/adults
Goes over any winter coat or summer dress. Brings some rave to any mundane activity
Oh MARVELLOUS!!! 🤩

Have really missed you and your writing! I have just purchased the Sweaty Betty anorak and have high hopes
Well I do hope you like it as much as I do!
You’re back! Lovely to see. I also love to hear the rain.
‘In the vicinity’ is often where the gold is isn’t it. Lovely as ever, thank you thank you

Ok! Panic over! found it! x
Oh golly I missed your meadow bulbs bit! Going to find it now! xxx
Lovely read, thank you Laetitia. Love the new coat/anorak/mac. Sadly, at only 5’ 3”, on me it would be sweeping the ground!
I believe there is a short version! Thank you for your lovely comment x

Yes I feel as though buying a scythe (and removing the plastic) might not be the best thing lol!
